ROBERT NEWLANDS

Erected
to the memory of ROBERT NEWLADS parochial schoolmaster of this parish
for twenty years. He was born at Closeburn, Dumfriesshire, 12th March
1808 and died at Tongue 17th December 1855. This stone is erected by a
few of his former pupils and other friends in remembrance of his many
Christian virtues. 1866.
