Erected by JOHN OLIVER, New Zealand, in memory of his beloved father, THOMAS OLIVER, who died at Gunside 28th December 1865 aged 68 years. He served as shepherd on the Bighouse Farm for the period of 40 years. Also his beloved mother, HANNAH CHARLETON, who died 10th February 1866 aged 76 years. Blessed are the dead who died in the Lord.
