General Notes: Although Alexander Mackay was born in Ednburgh, his family retained strong links with Tongue, and he married a Tongue girl. He and Jessie settled on the family croft, probably at the time of their marriage in 1935 in Tongue. Alex is the only World War Two death on Tongue War Memorial. 5 Alexander married Jessie Mary Ann MACKAY [383] [MRIN: 170], daughter of William Colin MACKAY, "3" [4061] and Catherine MACKAY [4129], on 18 Oct 1935 in Tongue, SUT.1 (Jessie Mary Ann MACKAY [383] was born on 29 Jan 1913 in Island Roan, Tongue, SUT, Scotland 6 7 and died in 1998 in SRY, England 8.) |
