  General Notes:

THE ROLL OF HONOUR
ANOTHER CLYDEBANK TERRIER DIES OF WOUNDS
Pte. Joseph Lewis, A. and S.H.
Intimation has been received that Pte. Joseph Lewis, A. and S.H., yet another former Clydebank Territorial, was dangerously wounded in both lungs on Thursday, September 20th [1917] and died as a result of his wounds at a casualty clearing station in France on the following day. Pte. Lewis, who was the youngest son of Mr and Mrs Lewis, 3 Green Road, Yoker, was 19 years of age, and was educated at Elgin Street School, Clydebank. Prior to the war he was employed as an apprentice sheet-iron worker with Messrs John Brown and Co. Ltd., Clydebank, but being a Territorial he was called up on mobilisation. His step-brother was the late Sergt. R. Davidson, formerly of Elgin Street, Clydebank, who fell at the battle of Loos on 25th September 1915. Pte. Lewis leaves a widow and one child, who reside at 96 Douglas Street, Partick. He was well known in the Clydebank district and the deepest sympathy goes out to his relatives.
