Melness Cemetery

Melness cemetery, formerly known as Achuvoldrach or Ferry House Burial Ground, is on the western shore of the Kyle, near the end of the Causeway.
Melness is the gloomiest burial ground I have ever visited, and these pictures were shot on a very overcast day. However, they show the nature of the ground, which is much eroded by rabbits, with large sunken spaces where, no doubt, memorials once stood. The War Memorial is near the gate of the old cemetery.
