• 6 Jun 1841: not found in Scottish census. I have assumed Alexander was working away from home and missed the 1841 census. The Tongue census shows his family at home, Caroline being enumerated as "tenant's wife".
Alexander married Caroline Macintosh [2494], daughter of Donald Macintosh "Of Borgie" [2609] and Janet Mackay [2610], on 21 Dec 1823 in Tongue, SUT.12 (Caroline Macintosh [2494] was born in 1796 in Tongue, SUT 4 and died on 8 May 1876 in Modsary, Tongue, SUT 4.)
