I was sent a copy from an old newspaper article (1907) from one of my father's cousins, that she had gotten somewhere, in her research of the family. I think it's from an obituary, it was a youger brother of my grandfather, his name was John Conlin. The article stated that John was 14 tears and 4 months old and he had died on his first day of work in a coal mine. There is a street address at the bottom of the article: 30 Brandon Street Motherwell.

… 1907 ... in the Royal Infirmary, Glasgow

In memory of our loving son,
These lines we do indite;
To a green grave at the Globe
Our memory oft' takes flight,
Where lies our fondest treasure,
He was our pride and joy.
Oh .. John; how we miss you
Our bonny, bright eyed boy,

You were taken from amongst us,
Oh! Sudden was the call;
Little we thought that morning,
Of what would you befall,
As, blythesome, gay and joyous,
To your work you went away.
That you would receive your death wound
Before the close of day.

Of such is life, we must not grieve,
Our time is not our own,
The treasures we rear with loving care,
Belong to God alone.
Though cruel was the parting,
And bitter was the pain
We've comfort in the knowledge
That we shall meet again.

Lord grant us grave and patience
To pray - "Thy will be done,"
For sadly do we miss you,
Our best beloved son.
For solace in our misery,
We look to Heaven above
Where we'll meet in happiness,
Eternal joy and love.
