Francis "Frank" BORSERIO [12088] ¹

  General Notes:

Francis Borserio's father, MARTINHO BORSERIO, arrived in Australia from Villa Di Tirano in Northern Italy in 1861. He was first married to a Jane Fisher, whose father worked at Rookwood Cemetery. They went to Valhalla in Victoria (gold rush). They had four children and then he left her and went back to Sydney. They both later remarried.
Martinho's second wife was MARY ANN HOGAN. Francis Borserio was the youngest of their children. ¹

Francis married Martha Bruce BANKS [6995] [MRIN: 3493], daughter of Sydney Harris BANKS [9295] and Martha DUNN [9296], in 1923 in Sydney, NSW, AUS.¹ The marriage ended in divorce. (Martha Bruce BANKS [6995] was born on 1 Nov 1903 in 16, Windmillhill Street, Motherwell, LKS ² and died in 1952 in Randwick, NSW, Australia ³.)

Martha Banks and Frank Borserio separated in 1929, shortly before the birth of their fifth child. The two youngest children were subsequently adopted out of the family and contact was lost for many years. Happily, four of the children were re-united only a few years ago.

Martha and Frank were divorced in 1935. At that time, Martha was working as a domestic for a doctor in Kiama, NSW.
